More often than not, this role is taken on by a CMS that combines secure access and detailed management of users’ rights. According to their profile, a user can not only look at information that is relevant to them but they can also use services designed for them in conjunction with your information systems. To go back to our previous example, the salesperson could order 100 examples of your product and be able to trace their order within the system. Generally speaking, this would involve developing custom applications linked to a portal oriented CMS.
